But its okay. I have actually recovered about 80% of everything I had on it
(including my pornographic contents).
(including my pornographic contents).
For some reason, yesterday when I tried to access my external Western Digital Hard drive (1TB), I could not get access. Go figure right?
But these things happen. And for a good reason as well. They make us realize what matters to us when it comes to digital content.
And to me it was all my photos and videos. But for a moment there, I was actually thinking about not trying to save any of it. And just start over, from scratch. New photos, new life.
But in the end, I didn't want all those photos to disappear.
So how did you do it?
How did you recover your photos?
Well I will tell you. I used a file recovery program called Active File Recover. And it was really good. But since the harddrive is 1TB big, it took almost the entire night to locate all the files. I had to first format the disc before I could use it?
WHAT?
You formatted the hard drive???
Yes, actually most people don't understand how hard drives work, I don't even fully understand the concept. But what I know is that when you format a hard drive, it doesn't actually erase files, it just says, "it is okay to write over all previous files on this drive."
What worries me the most, is that I haven't found much of the 2011 photos. Thank god I posted so many photos this year on my blog. But I think I will find those photos. Will just take some time.
I recommend to keep everything on two separate things. Two hard drives, or back up on DVD/CD as well.
Today was going to be the day we were going to make a movie for the first time with my new camera (Canon 600D), honestly, do you get tired of hearing me repeat the name of my Canon EOS 600D? :)
But my microphone (RODE video mic) has not yet arrived. And Robin hasn't mentioned anything about meeting today, so I don't know if we will get any work done.
