Mexico Suffers Penalty of Legalized Abortion

Pro-Abortion activists dressed as Roman Catholic clergy celebrate outside of the City Legislature in Mexico City, Tuesday April 24, 2007.

FROM APRIL 25, 2007...
THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: A sad day in North American history has come. Mexico City has returned to human sacrifice on par with the ancient Aztec civilization. The only difference is the deity worshipped. Like the United States government, the Mexico City government now offers human sacrifices to the gods of convenience, lust and wealth. We have all seen the result of America's cruel national idolatry. God has punished the United States with wars and terrorism. It would seem that so long as America's unborn remain unsafe, none of us can be assured of our safety -- yours truly included. Canada believes it has escaped this type of judgement, and perhaps it has so far, but like Europe the Canadian population is dwindling, and the government has no choice but to import immigrants (many from the Islamic world) to fill the nation's growing social welfare gap. So like Europe, the Canada we once knew is disappearing. Now that Mexico City has fallen to the gods of modern paganism, the only question that remains is how God will deal with Mexico City's crime against humanity. God's judgment is now certain, how He will exact it remains a mystery -- for now.

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: And now we have this story from yesterday...
(LifeNews.com) -- The capital of Mexico is under international scrutiny after the deaths or hospitalizations of thousands of people from the swine flu virus. Ironically, the outbreak comes exactly two years after officials in the Mexico City legislature approved a law allowing legal abortions.

The legislative assembly, in April 2007, approved a bill that legalized abortion within the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.

While legal abortions in very limited cases such as rape and incest occur in various parts of the country, Mexico largely prohibits abortions.

While residents of the massive capital city are dying from the swine flu, the Archdiocese of Mexico City’s weekly newspaper, Desde la Fe, said the deaths of people from abortion are also "disastrous."

The paper cited more than 23,000 abortions that have been done since legalization and notes that at least 14 women have died from legal abortions in just two years.

The newspaper's editorial warns that the “immoral, unjust and intrinsically perverse” legal abortion law is disrupting “the consciences of all those involved,” and making it so the next generation of Mexicans see killing unborn children as a normal part of society...

Draw whatever conclusions you will. One thing is certain, any protection Mexico once had from divine judgement is now gone. But woe to America, who's judgement is coming and will be much worse.

ACTION ALERT! This is not a drill - End of USA is Near - Catholics Must Prepare!

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: I'll remind my readers that 'The Catholic Knight' typically uses blog entries to debunk conspiracy theories and catastrophic predictions. There are only three catastrophic things 'The Catholic Knight' has been warning his readers about: (1) impending war to erupt in the middle east, threatening the possibility of worldwide conflict in the VERY near future, (2) the eminent financial collapse of the United States of America, and (3) the rise of the North American Union. Outside of these three catastrophes, and they are all catastrophes, 'The Catholic Knight' makes no further predictions. They will all happen soon, very soon, within the next few years. The final one, the rise of the North American Union, may (or may not) be complete within a few years, but it's rise to power will be very obvious for all to see. The North American Union will be presented as a solution to problems, with an appeal that is almost irresistible, but it's ascendancy will curtail civil liberties and dissolve what is left of Christian culture on the North American Continent.

We can do nothing to stop these catastrophes, only prepare for them, and when they are done, a new opportunity will arise for the Catholic Church in North America to fight the evil that will sweep this New World Order. It's only an opportunity though, not a guarantee. It will require cooperation by all the North American bishops, and fidelity to the Catholic faith on a level not seen in North America since the 1950s.

In the mean time however, we must prepare for the coming transition, and it will most likely happen very soon. The current flu pandemic may play a role in this, however the main thrust of America's problems will be more economic than anything else. Make no mistake about this. The coming economic catastrophe was not caused by the flu pandemic, nor was it caused by any particular presidential administration. Granted, these played their respective roles, but they were not the cause. The cause was 40+ years of reckless deficit spending by the United States federal government, coupled with over regulation in the financial sector (particularly in lending practices) that brought about the economic collapse of September 2008. What followed was the most reckless and naive attempt at solving the problem in all of world history, by simply doing nothing but throwing more money at the problem in the form of economic stimulus packages. These reckless stimulus packages were passed at the urging of both Republican (Bush) and Democratic (Obama) presidents. Both parties are to blame, not only for the initial problem of reckless deficit spending, but also the naive "solution" that only made the problem worse. The massive printing of US dollars, to pay for these stimulus spending packages will be the final nail in the economic coffin for the United States of America.

What is coming threatens to be bad - very bad. I don't suspect it will be universal, but large urban areas (such as the West Coast and New England) may suffer the most. It is imperative that US Catholics prepare for this. The same goes for Canadian and Mexican Catholics as well. Preparations should be at both the parish and personal level. It's important that Catholic individuals prepare for themselves, so that parish resources can be used to help the community at large and serve as a witness of mercy for the Catholic Christian faith. Parishes should stockpile on basic necessities, such as food, water and first-aid kits. It might not be a bad idea to stockpile on Catholic Gospel tracts too, such as the "Pillar of Fire, Pillar of Truth" from Catholic Answers in San Diego California. These can be acquired at minimal to no cost from the Knights of Columbus. The Knights should prepare to play a high-profile role in this too, as they will become the primary distribution and coordinating organization between parishes and diocese. Knights should also prepare for security duty as well, at stockpiled parishes, so as to prevent theft and arson. Knights already trained in security work should coordinate with their Grand Knight to begin training fellow brothers in the trade. Bishops and pastors should immediately be notified of the Knights preparedness in this area.

Individual Catholics will need to prepare by getting the following things...
  1. Have at least one month worth of non-perishable food items stored in your home.
  2. Have at least one week worth of clean drinking water stored in your home.
  3. Have at least $2,000 cash stored in a secure location in your home.
  4. If legal for you, have a basic firearm (22 cal riffle and/or 12 gauge shotgun) with ammunition in your home.  (ammo can be traded for necessities, so consider stockpiling)
  5. Invest in safe ways to heat and light your home at night WITHOUT electricity.  Consider cooking options without electricity as well.
  6. Network with Catholic friends and try to get them to do the same.
This impending crisis will not last forever.  Never underestimate a government's zeal to maintain control and power.  When the crisis passes, a new order will exist for the North American continent, and Catholics will be faced with new social challenges for a new world.  What's important is that we make it through the crisis into the new world, and we do it with style, helping our neighbors along the way.

Bishop of Southern Missouri Attends Traditional Latin Mass

(TLMC) - The Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite was offered at St. Agnes Cathedral as usual at 3 PM yesterday. There was one notable difference, the Most Reverend Bishop James Vann Johnston was in attendance "in choro". This tremendous occasion for the offering of the Extraordinary Form at the Cathedral was a great success that ended with a Q & A session after a talk given by His Excellency...

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: When you consider the history of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau this is really a remarkable event. It wasn't too long ago that the use of Latin was completely banned in this missionary diocese which spans the entire southern half of Missouri from Joplin to Cape Girardeau. Celebration of the Extraordinary Form (Tridentine) mass was virtually forbidden. Literally, the only place one could find a Traditional Latin Mass was in the local SSPX chapel in Springfield. However, all of that changed in early 2008 after the implementation of Summorum Pontificum. It was Bishop John Leibrecht's last act of attempted reconciliation before relinquishing the see of Springfield-Cape Girardeau. As a final gesture of good will he donated his personal vestments and alter cards from the pre-vatican II era.

When Bishop James Van Johnston took possession of the see of Springfield-Cape Girardeau it was just a matter of a few months before the Traditional Latin Mass was restored to the cathedral in Springfield. The TLM is now celebrated there throughout the week and on all Sundays. Last Sunday was his first public appearance at one of these celebrations.

Flu Designed To Accelerate Creation Of North American Union (NAU)

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: Want to know where the flu pandemic is leading? Here's a little gem posted from October 2007...
(Eagle Forum) - It's now leaking out that there was more going on than met the eye at the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) Summit in Montebello, Canada in August. The three amigos, Bush, Harper and Calderon, finalized and released the "North American Plan for Avian & Pandemic Influenza."

The "Plan" (that's what they call it, with a capital P) is to use the excuse of a major flu epidemic to shift powers from U.S. legislatures to unelected, unaccountable "North American" bureaucrats.

This idea was launched on September 14, 2005 when Bush announced the "International Partnership on Avian and Pandemic Influenza." He was then speaking to the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

We might have thought that idea had some merit because the Influenza Partnership called for "transparency in reporting of influenza cases in humans and in animals" and the "sharing of epidemiological data and samples." That's very different from the SPP, where transparency has always been conspicuously avoided like the plague.

This year's SPP summit in Canada morphed the Influenza Partnership into the North American Plan. Now we discover that the Plan is not only about combating a flu epidemic but is far-reaching in seeking control over U.S. citizens and public policy during an epidemic.

The Plan repeatedly features the favorite Bush word "comprehensive"; it calls for a "comprehensive, coordinated North American approach." The Plan would give authority to international bureaucrats "beyond the health sector to include a coordinated approach to critical infrastructure protection," including "border and transportation issues...

The Hollow Earth

26th April 2009

The previous chapter dealt with earth as being possibly flat, this one will deal with its possible hollowness, and the theories around it. In fact, it will be more about the theories around it than its potential hollowness because I’m no geologist and don’t really have any arguments either way.

Be ready for some serious unprofessionalism as I will do everything by memory here, and it will be very general, abstract, all over the place, and it won’t even cite its sources. If you need a good reason for that unprofessionalism, feel free to imagine that I’m writing this chapter on a desert island, where dinosaurs start chasing me if I dare look up Wikipedia or other links on Google. And if I plunge my nose into a book, an evil deity of said desert island steals me a limb. Otherwise you can just assume that I feel lazy about this chapter.

So where to begin? That’s indeed a problem because I could start this from any end. Let’s begin with Hitler and the Nazis, as this is always interesting. At some point, these gentlemen thought that the earth might be hollow, but not the way we think of it. Imagine an infinity of earth – the matter – and in this earth, imagine a spherical hollow. Now, Nazis thought maybe that’s what the earth is like, and we’re living on the inner sides of this hollow bubble in the earth. With this in mind, they thought that if you aimed telescopes into the sky, you could perhaps spy on Great Britain. If this sounds obscure, just draw a circle, then draw a stickman inside it, with his feet on the edge, and then another stickman 90° to the left or right, and that should illustrate my point. Yes, I’m too unprofessional to actually draw it myself. And I wouldn’t want to deprive you from some stickman fun. Nah, I’m just unprofessional.

The usual model, though, is that the earth is as we imagine it, but hollow inside. Pleonasm? Likely. Problem? No. You can’t be hollow outside exactly, or everything is already, and this is more thought than I bargained for. So back on tracks. The thing is that we really don’t know a lot about what lies beneath our feet. We know more about deep space than we do about our inner earth. What do we actually know of that? According to science, our earth is divided into 4 zones: the crust, the mantle, the outer core, and the inner core. How did they find out about that? They didn’t go there. If I remember correctly, they sent sounds and analysed how these sounds came through at the other end and deduced what the stuff of the earth was like (in this sentence, I use a different meaning of “stuff” that you might be accustomed to, meaning material, what something is made of, etc.). And that’s how they came up with this idea of the earth’s innards.

I don’t think we actually went through the crust. As said before, we explored space far more than we did the underground. This becomes really fascinating when you start thinking about the gargantuan proportions of the inside of our planet. If that place was hollow, and/or inhabited, think of the space! Entire civilisations could live in there. We only live on a surface.

And now let’s plunge into the fancy theories people have about the hollow earth. These are the good, crunchy bits. There’s this fantastic theory that the Nazis somehow escaped to Antarctica and possibly found an entrance to the inner earth. Flying saucers and aliens are often involved in these, but it would take its own chapter to go into details about that one.

Edgar Allan (not Allen) Poe wrote a story called “MS. Found in a Bottle” (and for general information, you put short stories or poems or anything that’s only part of a bigger piece between quotation marks and any stand-alone volume in italics; for instance, a song from an album would be between quotation marks, while the album would be italicised; “Smells Like Teen Spirit” from Nevermind) Poe’s narrator ends up falling into some black hole of doom. Poe was inspired by old maps of the world which showed two giant black holes in lieu of the poles. In fact, I think Poe adds a note to this story, in which, perhaps, he says he didn’t know about that fact before he wrote the story and only found this out afterwards, which is interesting. And yes, I can’t go check my Poe book. Remember, the evil deity who’d steal my limbs. I like my limbs.

This idea remains in some people’s theories. Why didn’t anybody suddenly fall into one of these pole holes? Simple. The curvature of that hole would be so slight and over such a long distance that if you walked towards the hole, you’d never actually notice that you’re walking into a giant hole. The idea here is that the center of gravity of the earth does not reside in its exact core, but rather inside the earth layers, if I may call them that way. And I’ll correct myself right now, that’s not the actual center of gravity, that’d be just what pulls you “down”. We understand each other. Well, mostly you me. So you’d walk off this side of the earth and into the hollow, and you’d not even notice it because, apparently, the sky is blue there too. And they even have an inner sun. Or so say some theories.

Other theories suggest that there are giant cities underground, but that there is no giant hollow in our earth, just that it’s inhabited, massively. Who lives there? Why, aliens of course. Or “ancient astronauts”, or Reptilians. Or Nazis! Who the duck knows, I did my research on the Internet. Let’s go wild. “Ancient astronauts” is a term that originates with the phrase “the ancient astronauts theory” which is a theory that suggests humanity has been visited by superior species in the past. This was one of my first serious interests in life, when I was a kid. (And before I go on, let me emphasise that I do know that this is a digression that has little to do with the subject (NICOLAS, PLEONASM AGAIN!) – I am fully aware of that, but I, like Holden Caulfield, enjoy digressions, and so I indulge in them.) So, when I was a kid, I one day found a couple of paperbacks in the basement. One of them was entitled La Théorie des Anciens Astronautes, in French, please, because when I was a kiddo, that’s all I could speak or read. I don’t think you need a translation, thanks to the French invading England some centuries ago and injecting so much of their language into yours. Don’t feel violated, it’s all right. So, as a kid, I thought this was going to be a book about spacemen and all that cool stuff. I thought they were “ancient” in the sense that maybe they were just old spacemen. Boy, was I wrong. A whole new perspective on the world was exposed to me and I shat bricks of excitement at the idea that maybe there was such an enormous truth out there, waiting for us to discover it. I don’t remember what age I was, somewhere between 7 and 10. My interest in this never entirely faded, and it culminated when I was about 15 and gave an impressive presentation on that very topic to a mesmerised class of 8th graders. (And I’m never sure about that American way of counting the school years, maybe I erred with this, so just think of the year when most kids are 14 or 15. That’s the year I mean.)

I read lots of Erich von Daniken – which I probably misspell, but remember the dinosaurs who’d start chasing me if I dare check it on Google – and later on found out that this author wasn’t very professional. Like me. And, like me, he’s Swiss. Hey, maybe he was writing from a desert island filled with anti-intellectual dinosaurs too. You never know. Switzerland might be quite different from what you thought it was.

Now I totally lost track of what I was saying. Ok, ancient aliens visiting us from outer space, or inner space, as some suggest. Some of you might know about Reptilians already. According to some interesting folks I heard on the radio (Art Bell’s radio show, yes), there are megapolis(es?) underground inhabited by Reptilians. If you never heard of that term – Reptilian – they’re thought to be humanoids of daunting proportions compared to us, very strong, scaly all over, and none too hot. Theorists typically link every serpent image in ancient history to that species, whether it’s the serpent of Adam and Eve, or traditional representations of dragons, demons, etc.

I stop here to say that I’m not discussing the veracity of these claims. That’s another topic entirely. I’m just disclosing this stuff to you, because stuff like that thrills me, whether it’s completely retarded, has some truth to it, or is factual. It makes the mind exercise in terms of world perception, and that’s what I’m into with this chapter and the previous chapter, about the Flat Earth Society people.

I recommend googling the “Dulce base”, provided there are no dinosaurs around you. You’d find more about Reptilians and conspiracies with this one. I don’t know if there is any truth to all this, but it sure makes for a good read.

Some people claim that we humans already have a massive network underground, made of tunnels and high tech metros and what not. In fact, and this is indeed fact, the USA have a very vast series of giant underground bases. Those bases were mostly built during the Cold War, to face the advent of a nuclear catastrophe. That’s where people would have saved their asses in case of a conflict. Supposedly, every state has at least one such underground base. Stories of people exploring underground structures and meeting weird stuff abound. But then again, what to make of them is anyone’s best wild guess. That huge underground network would be used by “those” too, meaning the aliens/Reptilians/whatever they are in any given theory.

On a more factual basis, we do know that pockets of worlds do exist inside our earth, as in Jules Vernes’s novel Voyage au Centre de la Terre, pardon my French. We didn’t find dinosaurs – dinosaurs! – exactly, but we found life that evolved on its little own for quite some time. Who knows how many such pockets exist? I heard rumors, or news, of some underground lake below the ice of Antarctica, in which there might be life, and which didn’t have any contact of any sort with anything outside its reaches for millennia, or more. Fascinating.

And I think that’s it for this unprofessional chapter about the hollow earth theory. I hope it served as a nice introduction, if anything. There are tons of information on the subject out there, including very serious books about the actual possibility of a hollow earth written by geologists (which don’t actually suggest our earth is hollow, just how a planet could be hollow).

The Final SSPX Rosary Crusade

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: As we approach the 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, that ushered Marxism onto the world scene in all it's forms (communism, socialism and fascism), and simultaneously the 100th anniversary of the Fatima apparitions, the final battle of the Church in our age is now underway.

In May through October of 1917, the Virgin Mary appeared to three peasant children in Fatima Portugal with a warning. She told the children that Russia would spread it's evils all over the world, and the Church would suffer greatly, ultimately resulting in the assassination of the pope, unless the pope (in union with the bishops of the world) consecrated Russia to her immaculate heart as an act of faith and renewal. Many believe this prophecy was fulfilled in the papacy of John Paul II, and indeed many signs point to that conclusion. However, while John Paul II was nearly assassinated by a Muslim hired by the Soviet KJB, and he did consecrate the whole world to Mary's immaculate heart, he never specifically consecrated Russia as the apparition at Fatima requested. So there is considerable disagreement as to whether the Virgin's instruction has truly been honored the way she requested it.

Simultaneously, the threat of worldwide communism, socialism and fascism remains. Entire nations remain under communist rule, and even Russia still has a fascist dictator controlling it. As the world's economic crisis continues to worsen, in what the Europeans are already calling an "economic depression," the threat of Marxist ideologies making a huge worldwide comeback has become a very real possibility. Then when we consider the increasing nationalization of private industry underway in the United States, which is supposedly the "leader of the free world," we have the makings of Russia's evil Bolshevik Revolution spreading around the globe. To assume that the current pope is safe from all danger would be foolish. There are many who see the possibility of another assassination attempt in the near future. Likewise, there are many who believe the pope will soon be forced to leave the Vatican, and ultimately die in exile. Again, this is all just speculation, but it is not without merit.

Still yet, there are now revelations that the Soviets struck a deal with the Vatican just before the Second Vatican Council, in which it was agreed that the bishops would not mention communism by name, in exchange the Soviets agreed to leave the council unmolested. Even though the Church's struggle against communism was the defining spiritual battle of the 20th century, a quick reading of the Vatican II documents reveal that the bishops kept their end of the bargain. Should it be any surprise then that the Second Vatican Council remains the most vague and unspecific ecumenical council in the 2,000 year history of the Catholic Church? According to Pope Paul VI, who concluded the Council, the bishops of Vatican II chose not to exercise the note of infallibility at all, thus putting it on a lower level than previous ecumenical councils, making it purely pastoral in nature. The years following Vatican II were marked by confusion and chaos, as Pope Paul VI instituted a whole new liturgical form created by his chief liturgist, an alleged Freemason mole, Monsignor Annibale Bugnini. (NOTE: Allegations of Bugnini's Masonic connections have never been proved.) The "reform" of the liturgy, which dramatically altered it in almost every way, was accompanied by unapproved liturgical innovations of every sort, on every level, from papal celebrations down to the regular mass at local parishes. The problem was so bad that Pope Paul VI referred to it as the "smoke of Satan" having entered the Church (read more here). With this liturgical "reform" and innovation came an immediate drop in vocations to the priesthood, followed by a general apostasy of many Catholics leaving the faith, and of those that remained, half no longer practice. Now the Church finds itself near the end of the greatest crisis it's ever faced. The priesthood is vanishing as those ordained in the 1960s and 70s approach retirement. Religious orders have likewise seen a similar drop in vocations, to the point where some convents and monasteries are being shut down and boarded up. Publicly, the Church is faced with clerical sex-abuse scandals (which only amount to less than 5% of the clergy by the way), followed by bad press and public ridicule. The pope is attacked in the media and assailed by his own clergy for nothing other than practicing orthodoxy and leadership. Finally, the Church has been plagued with the problem of Cafeteria Catholicism and the heresy of Liberation Theology. Cafeteria Catholicism being the insistence of some Catholics to "pick and choose" which doctrines they will believe. Liberation Theology being the heretical teaching of socialism that is white-washed with a "Christian" facade. Liberation Theology has been utterly condemned by every pope who has encountered it, especially John Paul II and Benedict XVI. Indeed, when the bishops of Vatican II made their deal with the communists, they effectively made their deal with the devil, and they've been paying the price ever since. Pope Benedict XVI, while Cardinal Ratzinger, plainly stated that the crisis in the Church today is liturgical in origin. Lex orandi, lex credendi - or - "The law of prayer is the law of faith." Our liturgical chaos has reflected (and in many ways created) the moral and spiritual chaos within the Catholic Church today.

So here we are, forty years after the institution of the new liturgy following the Second Vatican Council. The one religious order that most vehemently criticized the "reforms" of Vatican II, and the new liturgical form, was the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX). Having always received grief from champions of the "reform," in 1988 the SSPX clergy unfortunately found themselves unfairly excommunicated by the Vatican over a dispute concerning a technical detail of canon law. Just this year (2009), Pope Benedict XVI revoked those excommunications, and a firestorm erupted among the so-called champions of "reform" because of it. Now negotiations between the SSPX and the Vatican begin in earnest. The Vatican seeks a way to bring the SSPX back into the normal canonical structure of the Church. The SSPX seeks to reform the Vatican entirely, thus restoring liturgical and doctrinal sanity within the worldwide Church. Both sides will be pushing hard to meet their goals. However, in the midst of all this, the SSPX has asked us simply to pray, not for them, and not for the negotiations concerning their future. They ask instead that we pray for the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, and for the Church in general, that the wishes of Our Lady of Fatima be fulfilled exactly as she requested, thus relying on God's miraculous grace to put down the Marxist threat (both inside and outside the Church) once and for all.

Our time has come. The battle of the ages reaches it's final act within the next few years. Will Satan triumph, and Our Lady's conditional prophecies concerning the terrible future of the Church be fulfilled? Or will her promise of God's miraculous grace win the day instead. WE ordinary every-day Catholics hold the answer to these questions within our own hands. Pray the Rosary for the consecration of Russia. Print out the form below. Fill it in as you go, and mail it into the address provided on it. These lists will be presented to the Holy Father himself, and he will see them. Yours will be included in that if you participate. It's time to make history, and this time we'll do it simply by calling upon Our Lady, and relying totally on the miraculous grace of God to save us from the threat of Marxism (in all it's evil forms), and restore order and discipline to the Catholic Church.

Culture War Lost - Evangelicals Surrender - America Now A Post-Christian Nation

“The battles that we fought in the 80’s now. We were victorious in many of those conflicts with the culture trying to defend righteousness, trying to defend the unborn child, trying to preserve the dignity of the family, and the definition of marriage. We fought all those battles, and really it was a holding action.” (Remarks made by Dr. Dobson to his staff Feb. 27th, 2009 on the day of his retirement as Chairman of the Board of Focus on the Family)

These recent comments by Dr. Dobson created quite a stir among evangelicals and were picked up in the UK (see London daily Telegraph article Apr. 10th) prompting Tom Minnery, Senior Vice President to declare that Focus has not retreated from the culture wars, and will continue to fight. A podcast with Dobson’s statements can be found here.) The story of the comments broke Mar. 26th with an interview by radio talk show host Steve Deace of WHO radio in Des Moines, Iowa interviewing Tom Minnery about Dobson’s legacy.

Dobson said in his speech, “And now we are absolutely awash in evil and the battle is still to be waged, and we are right now in the most discouraging period of that long conflict. Humanly speaking we can say that we have lost all those battles.”

Dobson’s speech has since been removed from Focus’ website. On Tues Apr. 14th , Dobson backpedaled on Fox’s “Hannity” that the media had intentionally reported half of his statement.

Dobson said, “Humanly speaking, we can say that we have lost all those battles, but God is in control and we are not going to give up now, right?”

However, his voice, in my opinion, expressed the sadness of a defeated leader...

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: I guess we could have predicted this. The battle to save Western Civilization from the neopagan Secular Modernism has been lost for some time. America was the last bastion of the Christian West. For three decades Evangelicals circled the wagons around what remained of Christian America, only to lose it all in a final siege on everything sacred following the 9/11 catastrophe. The current generation on high school and college campuses today are truly post-Christian, the majority claiming no religious belief at all, with a growing number turning to the occult.  The rise of Islam on the North American continent seems inevitable now, as the world awaits the final death gasps of what was once a great Christian civilization.

The future of Christianity no longer lies in the industrialized Western world, but rather the third-world of developing and underdeveloped countries. Africa is Christianity's new home now, with large colonies existing in Asia as well. As for North America and Europe; these are the world's new mission fields.

Perhaps one reason why Evangelicals lost the culture war in America is because Catholics failed to join them in significant numbers. Together perhaps, these two mighty branches of the Christian faith might have taken on the neopagan huns for another couple decades, giving the third-world cavalry enough time to ride to the rescue. It didn't happen though. Catholics were too busy putting down Evangelicals, and Evangelicals were too busy trying to convert Catholics. The result was the loss of the Western World's last Christian outpost - America. Perhaps the moral to the story is this. The only reason why Secular Modernism was able to dominate the Western World was because Christianity was too busy picking at itself.

In Defense of Davao City's Peace?

Below is my email response in our ehemplo group to a member who forwarded the email of one Salvador "Doy" Valbuena, a businessman from Davao City ranting against a Commission on Human Rights who should have better things to do other than minding Davao City and its popular mayor. The Unlikely Disciple

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: Okay, so here's a promo trailer for a book about a New England liberal college student who enrolls in Liberty University, a hard-core Evangelical college founded by the Reverend Jerry Falwell. The purpose of this experiment was to document the hatred and intolerance he found there. Instead what he found was not so hateful nor intolerant at all. People were nice to him. He discovered a different kind of diversity, with a wholesome quality, and he started to like it. In fact, his book turned out to be a dissertation on why Evangelicals aren't so bad, and how the secular world can relate to them in a meaningful and productive manner. His book was immediately received with hatred, intolerance and scorn -- not by Evangelicals, but by the very liberal audience whom the book was written for.  Oh, the irony!

Hate Crime Laws Will Force Many Christians Into Exile

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: Do you like third-world nations? I hope so, because there is a very good chance you may someday find yourself living in one. Why do I say that, because if America adopts the same kind of hate crime laws that currently exist in Brazil, third-world nations may be the only place left on earth relatively safe enough for a Christian to live, think and talk like a Christian. Sound extreme? Well, you be the judge of that...
(WorldNetDaily.com) - Julio Severo, a prominent Brazilian pro-family activist, has been forced into exile because of the "hate crimes" laws that are being implemented in his native land, perhaps providing a preview of what Christians can expect in the United States should similar "hate crimes" proposals be implemented.

And several organizations are reporting Congress could begin adopting measures similarly draconian to Brazil's as early as this week.

"It is imperative that we contact all members of the House and demand that they vote against this bill as it will not protect a pastor, Bible teacher, Sunday School teacher, youth leader or anyone else from prosecution if he or she teaches against homosexuality if an individual who hears their message then goes out and commits a crime against a homosexual," wrote Pastor Rick Scarborough of Vision America Action, which as a website link to make that contact.

"Hate crimes laws that include sexual orientation are a bad idea, because they elevate homosexuality to the same status as race and do nothing to prevent violent crimes. All crimes are motivated by hate," said Mathew Staver, chief of Liberty Counsel, which also is alerting people to the congressional plans.

"Hate crimes laws will not be used to punish the perpetrators but will be used to silence people of faith, religious groups, clergy, and those who support traditional moral values," Staver said.

Severo reports he was forced to flee his homeland after federal prosecutors there recently charged him with "homophobia' for his statements about the nation's "Gay" Parade in 2006.

Severo told WND that while Brazil does not criminalize Christianity, it does regulate what biblical principles can and cannot be preached, and it bans biblical citations that disapprove of the homosexual lifestyle.

"Brazil grants freedom to preach Christianity, provided that the sermons avoid negative mentions of state-protected behaviors and cultural trends," Severo said. "The Brazilian government is establishing more and more categories of protected behaviors, banning negative mentions. So Brazilian preachers need to get updated on the latest political changes and preach a Gospel according to the state interests....

So Begins The Breakup Of The USA

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: Fast forward the above video to about 2:40 into the stream. There you will hear about what's going on in Texas. For the first time in nearly 150 years, Texas is close to seceding from the United States of America and becoming it's own country again. Right now the movement is more one of sentiment, but it's strong enough that the governor recognized it yesterday as a viable option that is on the table.

Now we all know what happened the last time states started seceding from the federal Union, but there are some significant differences this time. The most important of those being that this is not 1861. Slavery no longer exists in America, and institutionalized segregation is just a memory from the last generation. While the Left-Wing Obama robots would love to paint modern day secessionists as nothing more than neo-Nazi white supremacists, there is nothing racist about this movement. It is totally political, and based on the concept of the right to self governance. What we have going on in Texas right now is a movement similar to what went on in Poland during the 1980s, or the Ukraine during the 1990s. It can be compared to the struggle of Taiwan against Communist China. Granted, the Texas independence movement hasn't gone nearly as far as these other movements - yet - but the point I'm making here is that this is an entirely different scenario from the conditions that led to the American Civil War.

The United States government has spend the entire 20th century propping up and supporting secession movements all over the world, especially as they relate to states seeking freedom from communist regimes. Uncle Sam can deride this movement all it wants, but if it does anything to put it down by force this time, Washington DC will be known only as the world biggest hypocrite. Furthermore, any attempt to forcefully put down any state sovereignty movement throughout this Union, will only solidify the anti-Washington sentiments of the people, and harden secessionist resolve. In other words, the only way for the Union to preserve itself is to do so with a loose grip, reigning in big-government and allowing as much states rights as possible. The more the fed tightens it's grip, the more states will slip through its fingers.

Who knows what will become of the Texas independence movement. Perhaps this will all blow over in a few years, and become a distant memory. Maybe the tea parties will effect the change they seek in the 2010 and 2012 elections, altering the course of American history, and putting all this behind us. Or maybe not. Maybe the tea parties will fail, and Washington DC will continue to grow in power, subjecting the states to it's every whim. What will become of the Texas independence movement then? I suspect it will be joined by other independence movements from other states, and they will move from mere sentiment to something a little more serious. Perhaps these tea parties mark the beginning of the end for the UNITED States of America, and what we are now seeing are the early stages of the Balkanization of the USA. It wasn't but six months ago that a Russian scholar predicted the eventual breakup of the United States. Was he right? Only God knows.

The Second American Revolution

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: America's last best hope at preserving itself as a nation has finally come, in the form of yellow flags not seen in such large numbers since the first American Revolution over 200 years ago. April 15th, 2009 marks the day American patriots punched back, with the largest grassroots nationwide protest ever coordinated. For the time being, there is no end in sight. More "tea parties," named after the Boston Tea Party tax revolt of 1773, have been scheduled for the coming weekend, followed by larger rallies on July 4th of this year. This is to be followed by another round scheduled for April 15, 2010 and July 4, 2010, leading up to the 2010 Congressional election. Still there is talk of the movement going on past 2010 all the way into the 2012 election.

Behold the symbol of the new conservatism. It's called the Gadsden Flag (wiki here), and it features a coiled rattlesnake on a yellow field with the inscription "Don't Tread On Me" written below. It was used during the American War for Independence. Now it resurfaces once again in another "war" for independence. This time it's independence from high taxation and big government. The nationwide tea parties are truly a grassroots effort, and consequently, their message can be multi-layered, and sometimes a bit confusing. The basic gist of these rallies is as follows..
  1. The federal income tax system is oppressive and obsolete. It must be abolished and replaced entirely with something new. The Fair Tax (Retail Consumption Tax) is a viable alternative.
  2. The federal government has grown too large and become overly intrusive - bordering on tyrannical.
  3. The economic stimulus packages, recently passed, are going to bankrupt the country and mortgage our children's future with a national debt they will never be able to pay.

Now certain political figures are also targeted for protest as well, such as President Obama and Speaker Pelosi for example. However, these personality protests take a back seat to the overarching message of the nationwide tea parties, which are protests primarily directed at oppressive income taxes, stimulus packages and big intrusive government.

The Gadsden flag is now the symbol of the new conservatism, which is no longer linked to the Republican Party exclusively. Speakers at tea parties include Libertarians, Independents and Constitutionists. They all come together in agreement at these tea parties that government is too big, and taxes are too oppressive.

If these tea parties fail, then America is destined to become a socialist nation on par with Canada and Western Europe. The American dream of 1776 will be lost forever. So this is it. It's our last stand. Either these tea parties rally the support we need to defeat the socialists in congress and the whitehouse, or else we succumb to their rule forever. If you're a patriot, get a Gadsden flag, t-shirt and cap. Look up a tea party in your area and show up. Get involved now, because if this fails, there will be no need to protest anymore. Get your Gadsden supplies HERE.

The Joy of Easter

The joy of Easter is in seeing things with new eyes, through Jesus who is the fullness of revelation of the Father. The joy of Easter is in living the new life in Christ, whose resurrection dispelled the fear of the great unknown: death, indeed, dispelling death itself. The joy of Easter is the chance of a new beginning, symbolized by the rite of renewal of our baptismal promises in the Paschal Vigil

First Word: “Father, forgive them for they do not know what they do.” (Lk 23,23)

The seven last words of Jesus start on the theme of forgiveness. He is crucified on the cross, severely bruised and in terrible pain, mocked and shamed by his tormentors, and the first words ascribed to him are “Father, forgive them for they do not know what they do”.They are words that do not fail to inspire and perplex. Even in the worst of suffering, Jesus still preached and embodied the

The Divine Mercy Novena

Jesus asked that the Feast of the Divine Mercy be preceded by a Novena to the Divine Mercy which would begin on Good Friday. He gave St. Faustina an intention to pray for on each day of the Novena, saving for the last day the most difficult intention of all, the lukewarm and indifferent of whom He said:

"These souls cause Me more suffering than any others; it was from such souls that My soul felt the most revulsion in the Garden of Olives. It was on their account that I said: 'My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass Me by.' The last hope of salvation for them is to flee to My Mercy."

In her diary, St. Faustina wrote that Jesus told her:

"On each day of the novena you will bring to My heart a different group of souls and you will immerse them in this ocean of My mercy ... On each day you will beg My Father, on the strength of My passion, for the graces for these souls."

The different souls prayed for on each day of the novena are:

DAY 1 (Good Friday) - All mankind, especially sinners

DAY 2 (Holy Saturday) - The souls of priests and religious

DAY 3 (Easter Sunday) - All devout and faithful souls

DAY 4 (Easter Monday) - Those who do not believe in Jesus and those who do not yet know Him

DAY 5 (Easter Tuesday) - The souls of separated brethren

DAY 6 (Easter Wednesday) - The meek and humble souls and the souls of children

DAY 7 (Easter Thursday) - The souls who especially venerate and glorify Jesus' mercy

DAY 8 (Easter Friday) - The souls who are detained in purgatory;

DAY 9 (Easter Saturday) - The souls who have become lukewarm.

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy may also be offered each day for the day's intention, but is not strictly necessary to the Novena.

Obama's Approval Plummets Among Catholics

(LifeNews.com) -- President Barack Obama made it to the White House in part because of Catholic voters. While they backed pro-abortion John Kerry with 47 percent of the vote, they provider a larger 54 percentage-point clip to Obama, who has rewarded them with a laundry list of pro-abortion decisions.

While Obama attempted to convince Catholic voters of his consanguineous relationship with them by saying he wanted to reduce abortions and advocating social justice positions, he's only turning them off a Pew poll shows.

The Pew poll, which showed the most partisan divides between Republicans and Democrats over Obama's approval rating since President Richard Nixon, also took into account Catholic opinion.

Between February and March of this year, Obama's disapproval rating among all Americans rose from 17 to 26 percent. But, among Catholics, the figure shot up from 14% to 28% and from 20% to 41% among white Catholics...

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: Hmmm. Let me see if I can take a stab at this mystery. Could it be because Catholic voters are finally starting to wake up to the fact that Barack Obama is a militantly pro-abortion maniac, who has appointed only those who oppose Church teaching to his cabinet? Or maybe it's the overt anti-Catholicism coming out of some of his Whitehouse appointees? Or maybe, it's his insulting and outright offensive acceptance of an honorary degree from Notre Dame University? Oh sure, the president of Notre Dame is off his rocker, and declared war on the Catholic Church, by extending the invitation to Obama in the first place. However, a truly dignified president would recognize how much strife this would cause among a segment of his people, and graciously refuse to appear in order to avoid any unnecessary controversy. Instead Obama seeks to rub it in the Church's face by appearing at Notre Dame and accepting the honorary degree.

Or maybe the reason why Obama's popularity among Catholics is falling is because the U.S. Catholic bishops are FINALLY starting to do their jobs and speak out against the evil policies of this man. Of course, we've also had recent Vatican condemnations as well. So that may play a role too. Of course stories like this don't help much either...
(CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama has named to the federal government’s faith-based initiative a gay-rights activist who, last month, described Pope Benedict XVI and certain Catholic bishops as “discredited leaders” because of their opposition to same-sex marriage.

Harry Knox, who is a newly appointed member of Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships, is the director of the religion and faith program at the Human Rights Campaign, a homosexual activist group.

In addition to his remarks about the Pope, Knox also criticized the Catholic Knights of Columbus as being “foot soldiers of a discredited army of oppression” because of the Knights’ support of Proposition 8. The latter was a ballot initiative that amended California’s state constitution to define marriage as being between a man and a woman, and passed in November 2008.

Knox told CNSNews.com that he “absolutely” stands by his criticism of the pope.

"The Pope needs to start telling the truth about condom use," Knox said on Monday, Apr. 6. "We are eager to help him do that. Until he is willing to do that and able, he's doing a great deal more harm than good -- not just in Africa but around the world. It is endangering people's lives....

You know, as a "foot soldier of a discredited army of oppression" I might take offense to that comment, were it not for the fact that I've been called worse. Except these comments usually come from militant homosexuals, moral relativists, Muslim activists, frustrated Internet bloggers, or raving lunatic Fundamentalists. I think this may be the first time the Whitehouse has leveled such a charge against me, and my brother knights in the order. The comments don't bother me nearly as much as where they came from. If anybody in the Obama administration even cares about their rating among practicing Catholics, they may want to take into consideration all of the things I've listed above, but most especially appointments like Harry Knox. When men like this gain appointments to the highest offices in the land that advise the president on issues of Faith and Religion, it really gives us a glimpse into the mind of Barack Hussein Obama.

Why The U.S. Dollar Will Crash

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: Take a good look at the federal deficit graph above. 2008-2009 marks the largest in history, and Congress projects that this kind of deficit spending will go on for at least a few more years - minimum. Now the United States federal government doesn't have this kind of money, and it can't get this kind of money from the tax payers. So in order to make good on it's debt, and not default on it's loan payments, it can only do one thing. PRINT MORE MONEY! - LOT'S OF MONEY!!! So the printing mints are going into overdrive and churning out more dollars than ever before in all American history. What does that do to the value of the U.S. dollar? It's a simple rule of economics really. The more you have of a currency, the less it's worth. So the American dollar will plummet in value, sometime in the not-too-distant future, sending inflation cost for goods and services through the roof. How long do we have? I don't know. I suppose it all depends on how long it takes to get all that money into circulation. Some experts are saying it will take as long as 2 or 3 years. Others are saying we'll see the effects within 6 months. You're guess is as good as mine, but one thing is sure. Our money in the bank is about to become a lot less valuable sooner or later.

New Legislation Targets Christians For Persecution

April 3, 2009 – The Traditional Values Coalition calls the re-introduction in Congress of the so-called hate crimes bill a thinly veiled attempt at silencing Christians. TVC warned that it is yet another attack on Christians by this Congress and the next step toward the prosecution of pastors and others by seeking to criminalize speech and thought....

How To Survive The North American Union - NAU

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: Watch the following videos. They were made in August of 2008, based on a radio show broadcased in early July of 2008 which accurately predicted the economic collapse in September 2008. It was based on information allegedly obtained from leaks regarding a "closed-door" congressional session on March 13, 2008. The first prediction came true, to the very month, with spine chilling accuracy. What does it mean for the future? I don't know. You decide....

IF the contents of these videos are true, even if the time frames are off, then it may already be too late for the United States of America. The best advice I could possibly give to any Catholic reading this is to be a good Catholic. Follow the words of Jesus. Don't resist the government in any way that involves lawlessness or violence. Stay away from any gathering that could possibly go the wrong way. Do not financially support any organization that might possibly become an armed resistance movement. Stay in your homes and protect your families, but don't go out and try to be a hero. Nothing good will come of it.

IF the contents of these videos are wrong, then we can all breath a sigh of relief. We can only hope they are. Regardless if they are right or not, the advice at the end is worth while. Get your life straight with God, because we never really know when our number is up, and the times are changing.

Jesus Christ Died On A Friday

THE CATHOLIC KNIGHT: In recent decades a certain idea has cropped up that challenges the traditional understanding about the day of Christ's crucifixion. At the core of this notion is that Christ was actually crucified on a Wednesday, so that we can chronologically account for three full days before his resurrection. For decades this notion has gone virtually unchallenged and that's unfortunate. It has led to questions about other traditional understandings of the gospel as well, introducing more and more confusion in the non-Catholic world.

The evidence is for a Friday crucifixion is plentiful, once we're ready to start looking into what non-Biblical sources say about the astronomical events surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Phlegon was a Greek historian who wrote an extensive chronology around AD 137:
In the fourth year of the 202nd Olympiad (i.e., AD 33) there was ‘the greatest eclipse of the sun’ and that ‘it became night in the sixth hour of the day [i.e., noon] so that stars even appeared in the heavens. There was a great earthquake in Bithynia, and many things were overturned in Nicaea.’
- Phlegon, 137 AD
Phlegon identifies the year and the exact time of day. In addition, he writes of an earthquake accompanying the darkness, which is specifically recorded in Matthew’s Gospel.

This event could not have been a solar eclipse in the classic sense. In other words, whatever caused a shadow to fall over the earth, and the sun's light to be blotted out, could not have been the moon. As the moon is always in the completely opposite position in the sky during the full moon phase, which is what Passover always falls on. Furthermore, solar eclipses just last a few minutes, never three hours. The three-hour "eclipse-like" event is a historical fact, and accounted for by non-biblical (even non-Christian) authors, including Pontius Pilate no less, who wrote in a report to Tiberius Caesar the following account...
Now when he was crucified darkness came over all the world; the sun was altogether hidden, and the sky appeared dark while it was yet day, so that the stars were seen, though still they had their luster obscured, wherefore, I suppose your excellency is not unaware that in all the world they lighted their lamps from the sixth hour until evening. And the moon, which was like blood, did not shine all night long, although it was at the full, and the stars and Orion made lamentation over the Jews because of the transgression committed by them.
- Pontius Pilate, 33 AD

We may never know what caused the solar eclipse-like event that lasted three hours, but we can speculate. Assuming that God uses natural events in unexpected ways to accomplish most of his miracles, then using what we know about natural phenomena, we can make a good guess. Eclipses are caused when the shadow of something is cast on the earth. Under normal circumstances, its the shadow of the moon cast upon the earth, as the moon passes between the earth and the sun, blotting out the sun's light for a few seconds. So based on what we know causes eclipses, we can speculate that something fairly large passed between the earth and the sun on the date and time in question, and we know that it could not have been the moon. Also the duration of the event (3 hours) would seem to indicate that the trajectory of the object was such that it kept the shadow on relatively the same place (the Mediterranean world) for about three hours. One possibility would be a very large asteroid on a near collision course with the earth. If the trajectory were so that the large asteroid (several dozen miles in diameter at least) were coming directly from the angle of the sun, passing by the earth at an incredibly close range, it might create a shadow large enough to eclipse the sun wherever it was cast on the earth's surface. Furthermore, such a near miss with such a large object would certainly capture the object in the earth's gravitational well, causing the asteroid to be flung around the earth at a totally different trajectory than when it came in. If the asteroid were to have it's own gravitational pull, and something that size probably would, then it might have caused disturbances on the earth as it passed by in the form of natural disasters, such as earthquakes. Granted this is all just speculation, but I am unaware of any other natural occurrence that could cause an eclipse-like event lasting three hours, coupled with earthquakes, like the one described by so many sources from antiquity. I should like to see more study into this possibility done by people more well versed in astronomy and astrophysics than myself.

The occurrence of a blood red moon is actually much more easy to explain. Pilate's account to the red moon also helps us confirm not only the year, but the actual day. NASA has already accounted for the only kind of eclipse that can happen in a full moon phase, which is a lunar eclipse, frequently known to give the moon a "blood red" appearance, particularly when they are seen only partially. NASA pinpoints this event to April 3rd, 33 AD. The following chart is their report, which can be viewed on NASA's actual website here...

Finally, we must look to the Jewish calender to verify that a Passover did occur on this date. Indeed it did. Nissan 15, the customary day for Passover, would have fallen on Saturday the 4th of April in 33 AD. That would have made this particular Saturday a "high sabbath" which is mentioned in the gospel accounts, and it would have made Friday the 3rd of April the day of preparation, when the lamb sacrifice was slaughtered in the Temple. This would have put Jesus crucifixion at exactly the time when the Passover lambs were being slaughtered, just hours before sunset, when Nissan 15 began on the Jewish calendar. (Remember, the Jewish calendar begins each day at sundown not midnight.) Typically, the Passover meal would have been eaten that Friday evening in 33 AD. However, the gospels tell us that Jesus ate the Passover with his disciples the night before -- Thursday. This may be accounted for by the probability that Jesus was using the Essene calendar for the calculation of Passover.

Pope Benedict XVI, in his Holy Thursday homily for 2007 pointed out that Jesus; "celebrated Passover with his disciples probably according to the calendar of Qumran, that is to say, at least one day earlier -- he celebrated without a lamb, like the Qumran community who did not recognize the Temple of Herod and was waiting for a new temple."

So there you have it folks. The definitive date of Jesus' crucifixion is settled by two undeniable astronomical events. The first extraordinary, recorded in the gospels, and confirmed by the written testimony of non-Biblical authors. The second quite ordinary and predictable, easily calculated and illustrated by the experts at NASA. Finally, we have the confirmation of the Jewish calendar, which confirms a Passover preparation on this very day (see chart here, Passover always falls on the Jewish date of Nisan 15, with preparation and seder always on Nisan 14), just as the gospels tell us. Jesus Christ was crucified at high noon, and died at 3 pm, on Friday, April 3rd, 33 AD.
